Tenants rights when property is for sale

If there is no contract, the tenant may not be able to assert their rights e.g. in oral contracts, but if there are papers – like rental documents, monthly lease contracts or other, then the owner needs to give the notice to vacate within the duration, like one or two months, as per local law, which varies from one city to other.
