Liverpool Strand Plaza
Liverpool’s Strand Plaza is ready to convert into a luxury residential development. Developer Prime Site has selected Local Contractor Impel Construction to distribute the project, with a gross development value of £26m.
The former MoD office building, which affords views of the city’s Liver and Cunard buildings, is set to snatch and fit out as 130 luxury apartments, while the facade will also be refurbished.
It is believed that this plot is one of the last major development opportunities on The Strand in Liverpool, which forms part of the city’s Unesco World Heritage waterfront.
Prime site purchased the building in January this year, and asbestos removal is due to be complete in April.
The plan is expected to complete in March 2018. Architect Brock Carmichael designed it.
The developer is building 800 units in Liverpool city centre, including the £10.9m Herculaneum Quay development designed by Edge Architects.
Strand Plaza is the latest in a string of major residential projects in the city to proceed this year
